A Life in the Night of Alex Mauldin

24 Aug

Another episode of Alex’s life, played out just for you…

Alex stared at the groggy reflection in front of him. His gaze lingered on the eyes. Those eyes spoke volumes with silent eloquence. The lid of Alex’s left eye sagged ever so slightly, reminding him of the Bell’s Palsy that had damaged his face permanently. It served as a warning of what stress can bring to one’s life. Whenever Alex grew tired, he could count on having a slightly crooked expression. No one else could see the slight sag in that eyelid, but to him, the glare was blinding. The other eye had a small brown dot in the lower right edge of the iris. That particular badge served as a safety warning–always wear safetly glasses when using an angle grinder.
